Description of services:  CAPP funded.  Works with middle and high school students in school and community settings.  Topics covered include gender identity, sexuality, puberty, teen pregnancy prevention, contraception, STIs, HIV, healthy relationships, communication, and other lessons tailored to the needs of the population.

Description of services: Johnson County Public Health’s Integrated Testing Services (ITS) for HIV and hepatitis C (HCV) is funded through the Iowa Department of Public Health. This program works to make HIV screening and hepatitis C (HCV) screening available to all individuals presenting for services in Iowa. Beyond the provision of testing, this program seeks to increase access to a suite of HIV, STD, and Hepatitis prevention and treatment options including, but not limited to; condoms and other safer-sex supplies, harm reduction supplies, pre and post exposure prophylaxis, risk reduction counseling, and linkage to care / other services as needed.

Description of services: RVAP’s services range from working directly with survivors of sexual violence, their friends, families, and support systems to providing prevention education focused on consent and healthy relationships for middle school, high school, and college/university students. Anyone impacted by sexual violence is welcome to reach out to our 24 hour hotline. Advocates are available for support and response in hospitals, can work with systems like law enforcement, and are able to provide one on one counseling, facilitate support groups, and tailor services to the needs of each survivor. RVAP also regularly collaborates with other organizations, community members, and volunteers to continue to expand our offerings of services and programs. RVAP receives funding from multiple sources, including local grants, state and federal victim service funding, and donations.

We believe in supporting the community to help empower individuals to make informed decisions regarding their sexual health; and providing age-appropriate, medically accurate and factual sexuality education to all individuals. Our goal is to promote wellness among area adolescents by providing teachers with evidence-based sexual health education, lesson plans and activities, and community resources.
